Pernoire Poka
Caramel popcorn, hazelnut and warm vanilla
Poka began as a dessert. Pernoire worked with a confectioner and used the aroma, texture and balance of the sweet as the template for the perfume, and the name is drawn from popcorn and caramel. The result is a gourmand extrait of caramel popcorn, apple pie and roasted hazelnut, anchored by labdanum, vanilla and cedarwood.

How it unfolds

First minutes
Caramel popcorn leads, with apple pie and cinnamon right behind it. The sweetness is cooked and familiar, closer to a warm kitchen than to a perfume counter, and the cinnamon adds a dry, spiced edge that keeps the sugar from going flat.

Nuts and resin
Roasted hazelnut and dried apricot take over the middle. The hazelnut brings a toasted, slightly dry sweetness, the apricot a soft and concentrated fruit note, and labdanum adds a resinous, ambery warmth that gives all of this some depth.

What stays
The base is vanilla, musk, tonka bean and cedarwood. Vanilla and tonka keep the sweetness round and soft, musk smooths the edges, and the cedarwood adds a dry, wooden spine so that the dessert idea never turns syrupy or cloying.

How to wear it
Poka is warm and dense, so one or two sprays on the pulse points or the chest are enough. It is most at home in cooler weather and in the evening, when sweetness reads as comfort rather than heat. As an extrait it sits close to the skin and rewards a light hand.

Poka suits people who already enjoy gourmand perfumes, or who want to try a sweet scent with a clear idea behind it: baked, nutty, caramelised. It fits a relaxed weekend as well as an evening out. Anyone who prefers fresh, airy or dry scents will find it too sweet.

A cozy, slightly sensual vanilla that feels like warm night air by the sea. Easy to love if you enjoy gourmand perfumes with a soft smoky edge.
This perfume is really well blended, I just removed a star because I personnaly don't like the top note (citronella)
