Sailboat mood, notes kept secret
Warmth speeds up evaporation. On a hot day the top notes leave the skin quickly and every note travels further, so a perfume that feels moderate in a cool room can become loud outdoors. Humid air adds a second effect: sweet and creamy notes can feel thick, while citrus, salt, green and aquatic notes stay transparent.
This is why summer perfumes lean on bergamot, yuzu, mandarin and grapefruit, on marine or salty notes, on tea and herbs, and on light musks, vetiver and driftwood. Tropical fruit and coconut belong here as well, as long as the base underneath is dry rather than syrupy.
Pick the mood first: citrus and tea for a clean day in town, salt and driftwood for the coast, coconut and mango for a holiday. Then check the base. Vetiver, cedar, musk and ambergris keep a scent airy, while heavy vanilla and resins turn it warm and close. Use fewer sprays than you would in winter, and read our advice on applying perfume and making it last for where and how much to apply.
Perfumes for the warm months, from the houses on our brands page:
Lorenzo Pazzaglia Summer Hammer is the most tropical here: mango, pineapple, coconut and white rhum at the top, coconut milk and marine notes in the heart, and vetiver, musk, sandalwood and Indian amber below.
Goldfield & Banks Pacific Rock Moss is built on Australian coastal moss with Italian lemon, French sage and Egyptian geranium, resting on Virginia cedarwood and white musk.
Fascent Sel à Vie goes for sea salt and sun: mandarin and sweet orange, then ylang ylang, jasmine and tiaré, then sea salt, driftwood and a vanilla infusion.
Sarah Baker Atlante is a tidepool scent, with yuzu, pink pepper and seaweed over orris, lily of the valley and wet rock, and ambergris, seashells, cedar and driftwood below.
Pernoire Vitias opens with bergamot, lime and pink and black pepper, adds angelica root, iris and marine notes, and ends on ambergris and white musk.
Sospiro Vibrato has a fresh opening of grapefruit, bergamot, mandarin, ginger and rosemary over magnolia and Damascenia rose, with vetiver, Indian sandalwood and crystal amber in the base.
Nishane Wūlóng Chá pairs bergamot, orange and mandarin with oolong tea and nutmeg, and ends on musk and fig.
Summer perfumes
Clear, fresh compositions: citrus, tea, salt, green or aquatic notes over a dry base of vetiver, cedar or light musk. They stay transparent in the heat, where heavy sweet or resinous perfumes can feel thick.
You can, with fewer sprays. A rich concentration carries further in warm air, so a single spray on the chest or wrist is often enough. A lighter eau de toilette or eau de parfum asks for less restraint.
No. Salt, tea, coconut, light musks and green notes work as well. Citrus is bright but belongs to the opening; vetiver, driftwood or musk in the base give the freshness a dry, clean ending.

Very good quality profume, it last long and it has a good price for its incredible aroma and mixes of fruit and wood smell
A cozy, slightly sensual vanilla that feels like warm night air by the sea. Easy to love if you enjoy gourmand perfumes with a soft smoky edge.
This perfume is really well blended, I just removed a star because I personnaly don't like the top note (citronella)
Placing the order was very easy. Shipping was very fast. I am completely satisfied.
Good cologne, love the citrus and ginger scent making it a playful combo while the tea base makes it a bit more mature. Great for the gym
