The store’s selection is really good and comprehensive. Placing an order was very easy, and shipping was really fast. The fragrances were well packed and they were all...
The composition
The curve shows the order in which the notes come forward, not their strength.
On the skin
As the brand tells it, Ceylon cinnamon and tobacco leaf come first. Cinnamon gives a sweet, warm spice, tobacco leaf a dry, faintly sweet leafy tone. The pairing sets the gourmand, woody direction at once, before any wood has been named.
Ylang-ylang from Madagascar and Tahitian vanilla follow in the brand's description. Ylang-ylang is creamy and lightly fruity-floral, vanilla smooth and sweet, and together they make the spice rounder. This is where the gourmand side of the brand's classification becomes clear.
In the brand's description, agarwood provides the distinctive musky depth, softened by suede and enriched with saffron, incense and sandalwood. The result is dark, resinous and smooth rather than sharp. The classification as Woody and Gourmand fits that mix of wood and sweetness.
Wearing it
This is a deep, warm scent, so it belongs to autumn and winter and to evenings out. As an Eau de Parfum with agarwood and incense in the base it carries well; start with two sprays on the chest or neck and keep it for the cold days rather than summer heat.
Unisex, like the whole range. It suits people who enjoy warm, resinous perfumes with some sweetness and a trace of smoke, and who are comfortable wearing something with presence. If you want a light, fresh scent for the office, this is the wrong direction.
Silky Woods is the debut of the house's Botanical Series, created by Hamid Merati-Kashani. The brand's text for it refers to the botanist Joseph Banks's first voyage to Australia and to the Gold Rush, the two ideas behind the name Goldfield & Banks.
Questions
The brand says it was sustainably harvested for perfumery for the first time, from tropical rainforest in Queensland. Beyond that it only describes the wood as the source of a distinctive musky depth.
Both, in measure. Vanilla and cinnamon bring sweetness, while tobacco leaf, suede, incense and agarwood add dryness and a hint of smoke. The brand files it as Woody and Gourmand.
In cold weather it can, but its character is dense and warm, so evenings and the colder months suit it best. In summer heat it would feel heavy.
An Eau de Parfum in a 100 ml bottle of French glass, lacquered gold with 24-carat gold powder and finished with a wooden cap.
The house
Goldfield & Banks is a house built around rare native Australian botanicals, created by the French-Belgian Dimitri Weber. Its fragrances are described as gender-free, each product page names its own perfumer, and the concentration of essences and botanicals is stated at 20 to 26%.

Very good quality profume, it last long and it has a good price for its incredible aroma and mixes of fruit and wood smell
A cozy, slightly sensual vanilla that feels like warm night air by the sea. Easy to love if you enjoy gourmand perfumes with a soft smoky edge.
This perfume is really well blended, I just removed a star because I personnaly don't like the top note (citronella)
Placing the order was very easy. Shipping was very fast. I am completely satisfied.
Good cologne, love the citrus and ginger scent making it a playful combo while the tea base makes it a bit more mature. Great for the gym
FragranceGems is again really quick with their releases. I hope this one smells better than Too Damn Good. Already rating a 5 star because of previous experiences!!
Already pre-order. As always, FragranceGems is the first with good releases. Looking forward to my bottle!
The cap of the bottle came with a small part of it broken off and the glass pieces were in the box
