Tart mandarin, peppery basil, warm amberwood
Lime Basil & Mandarin has been part of the house since 1991, and the brand still calls it a modern classic. Its picture is citrus trees and aromatic herbs on a cool, crisp breeze. Mandarin opens, basil carries the heart and amberwood closes, with lime and white thyme named in the brand's own description.

The store’s selection is really good and comprehensive. Placing an order was very easy, and shipping was really fast. The fragrances were well packed and they were all...
The composition
The curve shows the order in which the notes come forward, not their strength.
On the skin
Mandarin leads, and the brand pairs it with zesty lime. Both read as tart rather than sweet: a bright, slightly bitter citrus snap that feels more like peel than juice. It is the loudest part of the scent and also the part that settles first.
Basil takes the heart, and the brand calls it peppery, with white thyme adding an unexpected twist. The result is green and aromatic, with a hint of kitchen-garden sharpness that stops the citrus from reading as soap or sweets.
Amberwood forms the base: a warm, dry, woody note without sugar. It supports the citrus rather than competing with it, and makes the finish rounder and a little sunnier than the fresh opening suggests. The scent ends calm and clean.
Wearing it
Lime Basil & Mandarin is made for warm weather, mornings, the office, travel and any moment that calls for something crisp and clean. Spray it on the neck, chest and wrists, and spray again whenever you want the citrus back.
For people who prefer citrus that is tart and herbal rather than sweet, and want one scent for work, travel and warm days. The brand's menu puts it under Citrus, and it is listed here as a unisex scent. It is less suited to anyone looking for vanilla, resin or darkness.
Created in 1991 by perfumer Lucien Piquet, it is still on the brand's list today, where it is called a modern classic. The twist sits in its description: peppery basil and white thyme next to the lime.
Questions
No. Citrus is the opening; basil gives the heart a green, peppery side, and amberwood adds a warm, dry base. It starts tart and bright and ends rounder and woodier.
Layering is a house signature, and the brand's product pages suggest combinations for each cologne. This one is complete on its own, so layering is simply an option.
100 ml. The house also makes colognes in smaller sizes, from 9 ml, but this listing is the 100 ml bottle.
The house
Jo Malone London is a British house known for its Colognes and the richer Cologne Intense, where each product page names one top, one heart and one base note. Scents are meant to be layered, and the range runs from English pears and sea salt to myrrh, poppy and oud.

Very good quality profume, it last long and it has a good price for its incredible aroma and mixes of fruit and wood smell
A cozy, slightly sensual vanilla that feels like warm night air by the sea. Easy to love if you enjoy gourmand perfumes with a soft smoky edge.
This perfume is really well blended, I just removed a star because I personnaly don't like the top note (citronella)
Placing the order was very easy. Shipping was very fast. I am completely satisfied.
Good cologne, love the citrus and ginger scent making it a playful combo while the tea base makes it a bit more mature. Great for the gym
FragranceGems is again really quick with their releases. I hope this one smells better than Too Damn Good. Already rating a 5 star because of previous experiences!!
Already pre-order. As always, FragranceGems is the first with good releases. Looking forward to my bottle!
The cap of the bottle came with a small part of it broken off and the glass pieces were in the box
