Stéphane Humbert Lucas: guide to the house and its perfumes
Stéphane Humbert Lucas Paris is an artistic house whose creator, a painter and poet, says he sees his fragrances in colours. This guide covers the ten perfumes we list, all Eau de Parfum in 50 ml, with their notes and the legends behind them.
Stéphane Humbert Lucas Paris describes itself as an artistic house and a field of expression for its creator, with no marketing concessions. Stéphane Humbert Lucas is a painter and poet who studied painting in the South of France with a Flemish master and specialised in tempera. He calls himself a synesthete, someone who sees his fragrances in colours. The first collection of the house, La Collection 777, appeared in 2012. You will find the ten perfumes we list in the Stéphane Humbert Lucas collection.
What the house stands for
Two collections carry most of the range. La Collection 777 draws on the creator's travels in the Middle East and the Orient, and takes its number from his personal symbol of perfection, luck and protection. Its bottles are vertical, crystal-like flacons under a vaulted cap of honeycombed metal. La Collection Serpent is built on stories and legends of the snake from Mexico to China, with snake-themed bottles; God of Fire, Mortal Skin and Venom Incarnat belong to it. The house even renames the three levels of a pyramid: Fulgurance for the top, Métamorphose for the heart and Quintessence for the base.
What the perfumes have in common
All ten are Eau de Parfum in 50 ml, and each has a full three-level pyramid on the brand's own site. Fruit is a recurring opening, with mango, blackberry, strawberry and blackcurrant among the top notes, and resins such as benzoin, labdanum and styrax often sit in the base. The brand's pages give no launch years and no gender, so we give neither. If Fulgurance, Métamorphose and Quintessence are new words to you, our article on reading a fragrance pyramid translates them, and oud explained is useful background for God of Fire.
The perfumes we list
Most rated on Parfumo first, by the counts of early October 2026. Fragrantica figures were not part of the research for this house.
God of Fire
Named after Xiuhtecuhtli, the Aztec god of fire, day and light, pictured with a turquoise serpent and a crown of turquoise stones. Mango, lemon, pink berries and ginger open it, blue coumarin, jasmine and dry woods form the heart, and oud, nagarmotha, musk and amber are the base. The brand's shop calls it the gateway fragrance of the house. Nearly 1,500 ratings make it the most rated of the ten.

Black Gemstone
A tribute to the sacred Black Stone in the Grand Mosque of Mecca, which pilgrims circle seven times. The brand describes a mineral, spiritual scent that also looks to the painter Pierre Soulages and the way light reflects off black. An infusion of three cedars and lemon from Sicily open it, myrrh tar is the heart, and incense, teak and tonka are the base.

Taklamakan
Named after one of the largest deserts in the world, on the Silk Road, and described as hot and dry like its shifting sands. Calabrian bergamot, osmanthus and neroli open it, Chinese cedar and Indian patchouli form the heart, and vanilla, cistus, benzoin and musk are the base.

Mortal Skin
Told as a snake's pursuit of its prey in three acts: the slow approach, the hypnotic stare, the strike. The brand calls it a venomous sandalwood in which suffocating heat meets icy cold. Blackberry, saffron and cardamom open it, sandalwood, opoponax and iris form the heart, and labdanum, musk and ambergris the base.

Venom Incarnat
A red elixir where venom, strawberry and glamour meet, in the brand's telling. Blackberry, strawberry, wild strawberry and caramel open it, raspberry, Virginia cedar and cinnamon follow, and tonka bean, black vanilla, patchouli and Russian leather form the base. The brand calls the result addictive and stimulating.

Soleil de Jeddah
Golden dunes sparkling under the midday sun, a touch of gold in the heart of the desert. Lemon, wild chamomile oil and osmanthus open it, iris roots, amber and earthy notes make the heart, and iris butter, Russian leather and vanilla from Madagascar the base. The brand's shop sells it as Soleil de Jeddah L'Original.

Soleil de Jeddah Mango Kiss
A bolder, fruitier take on Soleil de Jeddah, pictured as a day in a palm grove by turquoise water. Mango, wild chamomile oil and orange blossom open it, ylang ylang, amber and coconut form the heart, and iris butter, Siam benzoin and vanilla from Madagascar the base. The brand's text speaks of a coconut sorbet that cools the ylang ylang.
Sand Dance
The Kalbelia dancers of Rajasthan, who sway like snakes to the musicians' rhythm until they reach a trance, are the starting point. Whisky cream, mandarin and coriander open it, cocoa, sandalwood and Kashmir wood sit at the centre, and benzoin, cedar, styrax, patchouli and tonka bean close it.
Pink Boa
A tangy pink swirl: a snake that wraps you in a powdery trail with the feel of summer. Rosemary, bergamot and blackcurrant open it, vodka, raspberry and basil form the heart, and patchouli, amber, olibanum and musk are the base. The brand calls it a gourmand snake.
Sea my Love
Built on the legend of the Sea Serpent, guardian of the great abyss, who surfaces for a moment before diving back into the deep. Mandarin and salt are the top notes, leather, jasmine and sea notes the heart, and amber, musk, patchouli and benzoin the base.
