Spiced vanilla between smoke and light
Eau Duelle is Diptyque's ode to travel and to vanilla. The four listed notes are vanilla, pink peppercorn, cypriol and incense, and together they push a familiar sweet note toward spice and smoke. This is the Eau de Parfum, which the brand presents as the spicier, denser side of the idea. It comes in a 75 ml bottle.

The store’s selection is really good and comprehensive. Placing an order was very easy, and shipping was really fast. The fragrances were well packed and they were all...
The composition
The house lists its notes without a pyramid.
On the skin
The brand imagines Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar travelling along the spice route and taking on new aromas. That is the premise: vanilla as a traveller, not a dessert. Pink peppercorn brings a bright, dry spice, while cypriol and incense add dark, smoky shades.
Diptyque describes the vanilla as moving between darkness and light, and that is a fair way to read the list. Vanilla supplies warmth and softness, pink peppercorn lifts and brightens, cypriol and incense pull back toward shadow. Neither side wins, which keeps the sweetness from turning into sugar.
In this concentration the brand says the vanilla keeps its duality but shows a spicier, denser side. Expect more body and warmth than a lighter concentration would give: a vanilla that stays dry rather than syrupy, rounded and close to the skin.
Wearing it
Eau Duelle is an Eau de Parfum, so one or two sprays on the neck and chest are enough; more will fill a small room. It suits cooler weather and evenings best, although a single spray also works by day. Give it a minute on the skin and the spice and vanilla begin to blend.
For people who like vanilla but not the sugary kind: those who want it spiced, dark at the edges and a little smoky. It is unisex. It fits autumn and winter, dinners and quiet evenings, and anyone who likes to wear something warm and enveloping when the weather turns cold.
Eau Duelle takes vanilla and gives it a map and a mood: Madagascar, the spice route, light and shadow. It was created in 2013 by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin for Diptyque, the Paris house founded in 1961. Four listed notes, one clear idea and a dense, spiced character.
Questions
Diptyque lists four: vanilla, pink peppercorn, cypriol and incense. Together they give a spiced, smoky vanilla with a bright edge.
Vanilla leads the idea, but the brand pairs it with spice and smoky notes and calls the Eau de Parfum spicier and denser. Expect warm rather than sugary.
For anyone who likes warm, spiced scents, yes. It is unisex and comes in a 75 ml bottle with Diptyque's illustrated oval label, and the vanilla keeps it approachable even for someone new to niche perfume.
The house
Diptyque is a Paris house founded in 1961 by three friends, whose first chapter was written at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain. Its perfumes, eaux de toilette and eaux de parfum, carry an illustrated oval label and draw on nature, travel and memory, from fig groves and Vietnamese sandalwood to juniper and jazz-club smoke.

Very good quality profume, it last long and it has a good price for its incredible aroma and mixes of fruit and wood smell
A cozy, slightly sensual vanilla that feels like warm night air by the sea. Easy to love if you enjoy gourmand perfumes with a soft smoky edge.
This perfume is really well blended, I just removed a star because I personnaly don't like the top note (citronella)
Placing the order was very easy. Shipping was very fast. I am completely satisfied.
Good cologne, love the citrus and ginger scent making it a playful combo while the tea base makes it a bit more mature. Great for the gym
FragranceGems is again really quick with their releases. I hope this one smells better than Too Damn Good. Already rating a 5 star because of previous experiences!!
Already pre-order. As always, FragranceGems is the first with good releases. Looking forward to my bottle!
The cap of the bottle came with a small part of it broken off and the glass pieces were in the box
