Wild damask rose, raspberry and black vanilla
Rose Magnitude is the brand's idea of a rose seen through the Australian landscape: a pink salt lake under pastel skies, and a rose that is wild rather than garden-grown. Damask rose sits with violet, ginger and geranium, framed by raspberry, cumin and orris butter above and black vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood and papyrus below.

The store’s selection is really good and comprehensive. Placing an order was very easy, and shipping was really fast. The fragrances were well packed and they were all...
The composition
The curve shows the order in which the notes come forward, not their strength.
On the skin
The brand's top notes are raspberry, cumin, orris butter and buckwheat. Raspberry is bright and tart, cumin warm and earthy, orris butter powdery and smooth. Buckwheat adds a toasted, nutty dryness. Together they set the rose in a dry, slightly savoury frame rather than a sweet one.
Damask rose is the centre, with violet, geranium and ginger around it. Damask is full and lightly spicy, violet adds a powdery softness of sugared petals, geranium a green, rosy freshness, and ginger a bright heat. The brand calls the rose wild, and this heart reads more rugged than a bouquet.
The base holds black vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood and papyrus. Black vanilla gives a deep, dark sweetness, tonka a hay-like, almond-sweet warmth, sandalwood creaminess and papyrus a dry, fibrous wood. They give the rose a long, soft landing with a woody grain.
Wearing it
A rose with a dry, woody base suits autumn, winter and evenings out; a cool spring day works too. It wants a little space around it, so it is better for dinners and gatherings than for a crowded office. The 26% concentration of essences and botanicals gives the dry-down real weight.
Unisex in the brand's terms. It suits people who like rose but find the classic bouquet too sweet or too soft, and who enjoy a floral with spice, powder and wood in it. If you want a simple, fresh rose, this is not it.
The rose is set in an Australian scene, a pink salt lake under pastel skies, instead of a garden. The brand gives the concentration as 26%, the top of the 20% to 26% range it states for its perfumes, and the bottle is French glass with a wooden cap.
Questions
Not quite. Damask rose is the centre, but raspberry, cumin, buckwheat and orris butter above it and papyrus and black vanilla below give it a dry, spicy, woody frame. The brand calls the rose wild.
Only a little. Raspberry is tart and bright, and cumin, ginger and buckwheat keep the top dry. Black vanilla and tonka add sweetness later, but in a dark, soft form.
Clément Marx of Robertet created it together with Dimitri Weber, the founder and creative director of Goldfield & Banks.
Two or three on the neck and chest are plenty. With cumin, rose and vanilla all in the mix, it is easier to add a spray than to take one back.
The house
Goldfield & Banks is a house built around rare native Australian botanicals, created by the French-Belgian Dimitri Weber. Its fragrances are described as gender-free, each product page names its own perfumer, and the concentration of essences and botanicals is stated at 20 to 26%.

Very good quality profume, it last long and it has a good price for its incredible aroma and mixes of fruit and wood smell
A cozy, slightly sensual vanilla that feels like warm night air by the sea. Easy to love if you enjoy gourmand perfumes with a soft smoky edge.
This perfume is really well blended, I just removed a star because I personnaly don't like the top note (citronella)
Placing the order was very easy. Shipping was very fast. I am completely satisfied.
Good cologne, love the citrus and ginger scent making it a playful combo while the tea base makes it a bit more mature. Great for the gym
FragranceGems is again really quick with their releases. I hope this one smells better than Too Damn Good. Already rating a 5 star because of previous experiences!!
Already pre-order. As always, FragranceGems is the first with good releases. Looking forward to my bottle!
The cap of the bottle came with a small part of it broken off and the glass pieces were in the box
