Al Ambra: a guide to the house and its perfumes

Al Ambra is a Dubai perfume house, established in 2016, that develops and produces its scents under its own roof. This guide goes through the six Al Ambra Extraits de Parfum we list, with the pyramid the brand gives for each.

Al Ambra, which trades as Al Ambra Perfumes, was established in Dubai in 2016. Its founders page names Abdul Rahiman Mukarithottam as founder and creative director and Ghanim Yaqoob Jumma Khurram as co-founder and brand director. The house runs boutiques of its own in Mall of the Emirates and Al Barsha Mall in Dubai and in Matajer Al Mirgab in Sharjah. The six perfumes we list are in the Al Ambra collection, and the house also has a chapter in our guide to perfume houses from the Gulf.

What the house stands for

The brand explains its name in two halves. Al points to the Arabic perfume tradition of oud, incense and oils, and Ambra to amber and its warmth. It describes its work as oriental, woody, amber and Extrait compositions that draw on Middle Eastern perfumery and on modern scent design, made with warm climates in mind: a smooth drydown and oil-rich textures. Development and production both happen at Dubai Investment Park, and the brand credits no outside perfumer, so we credit none either. Besides the Extraits it makes Eau de Parfum in 100 ml, concentrated perfume oils, bakhoor incense and home fragrance sprays, and it says its production is cruelty-free.

What the perfumes have in common

All six are Extrait de Parfum in 50 ml, the format the house uses most. An Extrait holds more perfume oil than an Eau de Parfum, which usually means a denser scent that is worn in small amounts; our article on concentrations lays out the scale, and every perfume of this strength is gathered under Extrait de Parfum. Each product page gives a pyramid of top, heart and base, sometimes a very short one. Two words come back in several of them. Ambroxan is a synthetic molecule with a dry, woody, skin-like glow, and aldehydes are molecules that add a sparkling, soapy brightness; both have an entry in our perfume glossary. Five of the six carry the brand's label unisex, and one is presented for women.

The perfumes we list

The order follows the number of reviews on Fragrantica as counted in early October 2026, most reviewed first. The numbers are small for a young house, so read the order as a rough guide and not as a verdict.

Dubai Musk

The quiet one. Al Ambra presents it as a soft musk that stays close to the skin, with a gentle floral touch, clean and minimal where many musks are loud. The brand's page puts bergamot, black currant and soft musk on top, magnolia, mandarin orange and sandalwood in the heart, and musk and hedione in the base. Other sources place the same materials on different levels, so read the order loosely. The brand recommends it for daily wear and warm weather. With 76 reviews it is by far the most reviewed of the six, and you will find more in this register under musk perfumes.

Ravenna

Fragrantica and Parfumo both date it to 2026, which makes it one of the two newest here. It opens with what the brand calls luminous citrus and golden fruits: lemon, bergamot, orange, pineapple and mango. In the heart the brand lists ginger, cinnamon and Tunisian neroli; black tea, guaiac wood, rosemary and ambroxan make up the base. The brand sums up the result as a clean yet grounded elegance.

Black Forest

The shortest pyramid of the house, one entry per level: grapefruit on top, ambroxan in the heart, woody notes in the base. The brand calls it minimal, fresh and skin-like, lighter and subtler than a classic citrus perfume, and says it ends in a smooth musky-woody finish instead of sharp freshness. Three notes are all the brand lists, so we add nothing to them.

Black Forest Elixir

The name suggests a stronger Black Forest, but the pyramid shares little with it beyond ambroxan and woods. The brand files this one as a modernised aldehydic floral. Aldehydes, bergamot, mandarin orange and white peach open it, orange blossom, lily of the valley and ambrette make the heart, and musk, vanilla, ambroxan, patchouli and woods the base. Airy, polished and structured are the brand's words, and it points to daily and office wear.

Vanilla Night & Day

The one perfume of the six that the brand presents for women, and like Ravenna dated 2026 by both databases. It is a vanilla gourmand for cosy evenings: red fruits and vanilla on top, caramel, honey and powdery notes in the heart, and vanilla, sugar and musk in the base. The brand calls it rich and dessert-like, kept smooth by the powdery touch. For more of this kind, see vanilla perfumes.

Loren

A sweet leather for evenings and for occasions when a perfume may be noticed. Candy, berries and soft leather open it, apricot, patchouli and soft resinous accords form the heart, and musk, woods and light florals the base. The brand describes a hybrid of French gourmand and Arabic depth, sweeter and more playful than a traditional leather perfume. We file it with our gourmand perfumes.
